FFF: Silly

It's Friday again and that means Favorite Foto Friday!! This week's theme is 'Silly'. Around here, we're always being silly! Life's too short to be so serious, so enjoy it!
Lucas started young learning to be silly. This was taken in Guatemala on our pick-up trip. Daddy and Lucas were acting silly and Mommy got this picture of them looking at each other without moving their heads. Silly boys!Once we got home, Lucas became even more silly. I guess that's from spending so much time with his Mommy and Daddy. Here's Lucas acting silly pretending our dog Max is a jungle gym. As you can see, Max could have cared less! He and Lucas are great buddies! Since I posted a picture of Daddy and Lucas being silly, to be fair, I had to post one of Lucas and Mommy being silly. We were at a zoo in Illinois and saw this just calling out to us to get our pictures taken with it. So, here's two silly foxes - or some type of animal!
We spent a beautiful fall day at Boyd Orchards with our small Guatemalan playgroup. They had tons of activities and things to do but Lucas and his friend, A., decided to be silly and play with the cornhole board. They took turns looking in the hole. I guess they were trying to find something interesting but all they saw was grass. Silly kids!
While in Arizona, one of Daddy's highschool buddies came to visit with his little boy. Lucas and M. became fast friends and had a blast together. Here they are being silly running around the orange tree in Grandmama and Grandpapa's backyard. They had soooo much fun! Silly boys!
If you had fun seeing Lucas (along with the rest of us) being silly, stop by Sophie's blog for more links to others' blogs and see them being silly! The blog is http://www.kissthefrog4me.blogspot.com/

FFF- Fake Out

This Friday's theme is 'Fake Out'. That can mean many things, but in Lucas' case, he is the King of Fake Smiles! So, after looking through our pictures of Lucas I found some of him fake smiling. He loves to do that whenever he sees the camera!

Lucas was 14 months here and already learned how to fake smile! He just wanted to play in the pool splashing, not pose for the camera! So, this was his way of making me happy so he could continue to splash!

We were baking Christmas cookies and Lucas was having a blast! Unfortunately for him, I got the camera out again! I think this is his way of saying that he is done getting his picture taken!

Urgent Prayers Needed

I'd like to introduce you to a precious little girl who needs our prayers. This is Abby Riggs. She is in the hospital right now. They are very concerned about her and the complications that she is having from the chemotherapy she is undergoing for Leukemia. Could you please take time out and pray for her? She is a fighter and reminds me so much of my sister, Angela when she was battling Leukemia. Look at that beautiful smile -- even though she is in alot of pain and discomfort, she still has a smile on her face. We could all learn so much from little Abby. God bless you sweet girl.
If you would like to learn more about Abby and her wonderful family, please go to:
Thank you for praying for Abby. God's blessings to you.

Lions, and Tigers, and... Dogs??? Oh my!!!

Yep, that's right. We saw 'Singing Dogs' at the zoo! They don't actually sing but I guess their voices sound like they are singing. To me, it just sounded like a bunch of dogs whining and barking. Oh well! There were tons of different animals -- but we didn't see any bears! Hmmm! Must be because it gets so hot in Arizona. Here are some pictures of Lucas at the zoo and some of the animals...
Introducing 'Outback Lucas'. He wore this hat all day at the zoo. It's Grandpapa's so it was big but gosh he looks so cute in it and it kept the sun from his little face.
Lucas decided from the get-go that he didn't want to be pushed in the stroller. So, he pushed my purse and our waters in it. That is, until he walked quite a while, then decided the stroller was great!

This is an Oscellated Turkey. It's native to Guatemala, among other Latin American countries.

This little guy is a Hairless Guinea Pig. I think he is just too cute! Everyone else disagreed.

Up close and personal with Mr. Giraffe. They had coin operated food bins but all the food was gone. At least Lucas got a good look at a giraffe.

This is Miss Tiger. Isn't she beautiful?! She and her mate, a white tiger, scared Lucas to death with their roars! I do have to admit that they startled me as well. Quite powerful roars!

These are the 'Singing Dogs'. Lucas was trying to figure out why dogs were at the zoo.

This is a rare albino alligator, or maybe crocodile. I can't tell the difference.

Isn't this monkey just the cutest?! He was having a ball swinging on the ropes.

And last but not least, since his name begins with 'Z', here is Zebra. He was very friendly and seemed to almost 'pose'. Too funny!

When Kentucky throws you frozen lemons...

... fly to Arizona and make lemonade and lemon creme pie!!

While the rest of Kentucky was under snow, ice and freezing temps, we arrived in Arizona to sunshine and temps in the 70's. It was gorgeous!! We spent 4 full days enjoying time with Grandmama and Grandpapa in Phoenix. We visited relatives and friends, went to the zoo and aquarium, strolled a huge flea market, and relaxed. It was just what the weatherman ordered!! I almost feel guilty about us being in nice weather when our friends were in their homes trying to keep warm.

But since Kentucky is warming up nicely and the sun is shining (for right now) today, I will post some pics of Lucas picking lemons and oranges from Grandmama and Grandpapa's back yard. He had a blast.
Here's Lucas pulling on the oranges. They were stubborn little buggers!! But he finally picked some!!

And here is Lucas with Grandpapa picking lemons. He got the hang of it pretty quickly and actually picked a couple straight from the tree!!

The 'loot' Lucas and Grandpapa got from one tree!! These lemons were given away but later we enjoyed delicious lemonade and pie!

FFF - 'Melting'

Goodness, it's been a while since I've posted! We've been busy, busy but I'll post more about that later. Right now, it's Favorite Foto Friday and the theme is 'Melting'. I have many pictures of Lucas that MELT my heart each time I see them, but I've decided to post a video this week.
This video was taken by our agency. The minute I saw his video, I knew that Lucas was our little boy! My heart MELTED into a big puddle when I saw this video of him.

Isn't he the most precious little baby boy??

Oh, I couldn't wait to start the process to bring him home!
